One good deed a comedian does not make.

Leno only made me chuckle a few times.
Fallon can reduce me to tears.

I feel like that's comparing a Ford Pinto with a AMC Gremlin. I find both of them profoundly unfunny.
Everything Fallon does makes me think that they paid some intern enough money to come up with a single-sentence idea, and then they went to the producers and said "Okay, now let's find a way to stick this bumbling, self-absorbed, weirdo inside of it". Then, realizing they don't have enough content to fill up the entire space, they just take the sketch and extend it to twice the length that a normal human being would do.

He has more of an Ed Sullivan variety show feel. I sort of love it.

I'll give you bumbling, but I really don't think the self-absorbed label fits him. Honestly, to me he seems like a sweet, playful kid at heart. And being more than willing to embarrass oneself in the process of making people laugh goes pretty far in my book.
